TUT earned the prestigious FISU Healthy Campus Platinum Label, the highest honour in the programme, in recognition of its high-quality sports facilities and their contribution to student well-being.
In a major recognition of the integrity and quality of TUT sports facilities and their role in enhancing student well-being, the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) has earned the Healthy Campus Platinum Label from the International University Sports Federation (FISU). This is the highest honour in the FISU Healthy Campus programme.
This outstanding achievement recognises TUT’s exceptional commitment to creating a healthier, happier, and more holistic campus environment. Moving up from the Gold Label, TUT has now surpassed rigorous international benchmarks in promoting physical activity, mental health support, nutrition, disease prevention, sustainability, and vibrant community engagement.
“This Platinum Label is a powerful affirmation of TUT as University in which the holistic wellbeing of students is not an optional extra”, said Prof Tinyiko Maluleke, Vice-Chancellor and Principal of TUT.
Led by the Directorate of Sport and Recreation, TUT’s award-winning initiatives include expanded fitness programmes, strengthened mental health services, sustainable living practices, and inclusive wellness activities that have fostered a dynamic, energetic, and caring campus culture.
TUT fully deserves this honour. Congratulations to every student, staff member, and partner who has contributed to the creation of a healthier and more vibrant campus life.
