TUT surpasses 2026 DHET Postgraduate enrolment targets

The Tshwane University of Technology’s continued upward trajectory has once again been highlighted by it exceeding its 2026 postgraduate enrolment targets agreed upon with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). The targets form part of a five-year enrolment plan (2026–2030) aligned to the University's Institutional Strategic Plan (ISP) 2026–2035, which prioritises the growth of postgraduate education and research capacity.

Global conference honours TUT’s tourism research excellence

Dr Njabulo Ndlovu, Postdoctoral Research Fellow from the Tshwane University of Technology’s (TUT) Department of Tourism Management, has received a Best Paper Award at 13th Advances in Hospitality and Tourism Marketing and Management (AHTMM) Conference in Macau, China. This international recognition celebrates innovative research that explores how digital innovation can drive sustainable transformation in South Africa's small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs).

TUT student innovator turns agricultural waste into award-winning ‘biomulchies’

Onndinadaho Rasilwela, a member of the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) Student Women Economic Empowerment Programme’s (SWEEP) bioplastic innovation has won first prize at the 2026 Green Youth Indaba, taking home R150 000 in cash for a project that transforms sugarcane bagasse and maize stalk into biodegradable mulching plastic. This innovation could change the face of sustainable agriculture in South Africa.
