A powerful conversation highlights the support available to student entrepreneurs and innovators. This powerful exchange was the heartbeat of the recent session, driven by the ultimate fusion between the Innovation Technology Transfer Office (ITTO), the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED), and the Rail Manufacturing Centre of Entrepreneurship and Rapid Incubator (RMCERI), which all came together on 8 September 2026 at the Faculty of Science.

The Collaborative Engine of the ITTO, the CED, and RMCERI, shattered the silos between academia and industry by demonstrating how joint institutional support transforms a simple research concept into a market-ready powerhouse.

Guest speaker Njabulo Kubheka from the University of the Western Cape took centre stage with a masterclass on strategic intellectual property (IP) management, sharing tested insights from his institution and case studies on protecting research outputs, maximising seed-funded projects, and mastering compliance to accelerate commercial success.
