Research Collaborations (national and international)
In case of collaborations with other institutions, an MOU / MOA and/or Material Transfer Agreement must be signed by both research parties before the TUT AREC can give final approval for a project. These documents must cover amongst others the responsibilities as well as ownership of IP or biological products / data emanating from the collaborative research.
Depending on the type of collaboration, the Animal Ethics Approval from the other institutions might have to accompany the TUT AREC application or will must be applied for after receiving TUT AREC approval. Work can only commence with the approval of both institutions. Researchers are encouraged to enquire about the Animal Research Ethics oversight details on a case-by-case basis with the TUT AREC well before the start of any collaborative research. Please contact the TUT AREC administrator.
